Cardboard Sled Derby

REQUIRED check-in & sled inspection from 9:00 am - 10:00 am on race day
Sleds will race a minimum of two times. Awards ceremony following the race.

​SLED RULES
-
All sleds will be inspected for compliance. Sled inspectors have the final say.

PERMITTED MATERIALS - Sleds may be constructed of corrugated cardboard, paint, tape, and glue ONLY. String/rope for handles accepted.

NOT PERMITTED MATERIALS - sonotubes or similar pressed hard structural paper, metal (including metal tape), plastic, or wood.

Sleds must have a front, a bottom, and two sides at least 6 inches in height, and the racer's bodies must fit on the sled.

WINGS extending more than 6 inches are NOT PERMITTED

Runners must not extend more than 6 inches in front of the sled.

Any sled that questions the safety of the racer or audience will be asked to alter the sled or will not be able to race.

Participants will be allowed to fix any issues before racing begins

RACER RULES
-
Racers are required to wear ski helmets, goggles, gloves, long sleeves, and long pants
-
Racers CANNOT wear ski boots
-
Open to ages 5-14 (maximum age is 14 years of age by 3/23/2026)

Maximum of 2 racers per sled
-
Racers may race on one sled team only
-
Each racer's legal guardian MUST sign a WAIVER & RELEASE FORM for youth to participate.
